Roll Rate & Pitch Rate (B&G 3D Motion)
Following a post under “network” in this forum I finally did go ahead and bought a H5000 CPU (Performance version), I already have the H5000 pilot with the Precision 9 compass installed.
From what I understand Precision 9 provides me with, HEEL, PITCH & ROT (= Yaw Rate?) all used by the pilot.
Getting a 3D Motion sensor will also give me PITCH RATE and ROLL RATE. Form what I understand, used in wind calculations but not by the pilot, is this correct?
What can I expect from getting the 3D motion sensor if I already have the Precision 9 compass installed? Will there be any notable difference in wind calculations or pilot performance? Will the 3D motion sensor give me data of better quality or will Pitch Rate and Roll Rate alone ad enough to the overall experience making it worth the extra investment?
The 3d motion will do a huge difference in your wind calculations, some of its values are passed on to some of the higher mode algorithms and filters in the pilot
