Comments from Campbell:

"The Mesa3 Tablet was brought to my attention and after reviewing some of the specifications decided to buy one as a test unit.

Having used a variety of different solutions over the last few years from Andriod/iOS tablets to tablet PC's, everything has been a compromise - too big & heavy or too expensive, or too short of a battery life, too slow, unable to read in direct sunlight, inoperable with water on the screen...

I took my new Mesa3 straight to the Caribbean for Les Voiles de St Barth's - the perfect mix of long days, high temperatures, big wind and waves and brilliant sunshine and was instantly pleased with the unit. I've tried to drown it, it has been jumped on in the cockpit floor when dropped and generally not taken very good care of. It has not let me down whether charging around the Solent on a Fast40+ or on a TP in the trade winds. I do not hesitate to recommend it in any way. Having signed as a dealer for Mesa3 I have supplied a number of units to some now very happy customers."

Multiple methods of use:

  • Connect to your Boat Wifi and use as a Screen repeater and remote control to your PC running downstairs

  • Install Expedition Navigation Software and charts, connect to your Boat WiFi and use as a stand alone navigation PC with wireless data from NMEA to WiFi adapters or use Ethernet connected sources such as RacingBravo, FaRo, or another Expedition installation and share the data over the network (UDP or TCP/IP).

  • Field Yachting can supply units from being fully configured and set up with Expedition* and charts to a virgin Windows machine.

*Expedition is our favourite software suite, however any Windows 10 compatible system will run on the Mesa2
