Displays for WTP3
Hello,
I'm looking into updating the masthead displays on a boat with a WTP3 processor.
Currently installed are a combination of B&G H5000 Race Displays (2x) and 20/20 HVs (5x).
What are the pros & cons of Garmin / B&G Nemesis / Sailmon / A&T / ...?
Are they all compatible with the WTP3? Do I need to install any files / updates on the WTP3 or would it be "plug and play"?
Displays shall be mainly used to only display numbers and should be cristal clear and easy to read also in bright sunlight from the back of the boat.
Remote / alternating channels are sent out from Expedition.
Latency for Expedition start timer should be as small as possible.

In the end we went for the Garmin GNX 120s.
Overall happy, good looking displays for reasonable price.
But they only work properly with the WTP3 when a Laptop with Deckman & Expedition is connected and running.
There are a few channels that could be displayed on the displays directly ("open" channels from the WTP3), like depth, BSP and TWS. But some of them are then the calibrated ones and others not.
So in the end I chose this setup:
Deckman is receiving channels on the Laptop
Channels are transferred to Expedition via DfW2Exp
Expedition is used for damping settings
Channels are exported from Expedition and selected on the Displays.
Main downside is that when exporting the start timer to the Garmins sometimes a second in the countdown is left out. So it lags for 1 second and then jumps 2 seconds at once.
Configuring data fields and increasing the update rate for remote channels or prioritizing certain remote channels for a high update rate is not possible on the Garmins.
And obviously when Expedition or the Laptop crashes there are no numbers until restart.
