How to determine Leeway K factor

I'm still going round the circle of trying to get the TWD/TWA correct on the H5000, so im looking at the leeway factor. What is the approach to trying to determine K? I have the original boat VPP numbers (which aren't accurate now as the boat has been modified) but the leeway are shown degrees - but working backwards results in a K of 8 or 9 which seems to low. I've seen comments online about TP52s using a K of 9 but then in other posts ive seen comments that they use 12. Generally it seems boats should be between 10-13? We are almost always sailing in tide - so comparing the COG to Course doesn't help a great deal.

What I have done in the past is calculate all the k values ffrom a vpp in a spreadsheet. Then just choose a representative value upwind. You don't care if the result it 50% wrong downwind as 50% of almost nothing is still negligible.
